How to choose outdoor LED strip lights
Choose the construction
Transparent SMD strips show individual LEDs; flexible-neon and round profiles have different light-emitting forms, while COB uses a continuous emitting line. Match the profile to the installation instead of treating similarly sized reels as interchangeable.
Check voltage and cutting
The collection contains 220V and selected 12V / 24V versions. The first three models have specific cutting intervals; other models require individual confirmation. Voltage variants are separate products, not a universal input range.
Verify the installed protection
Most listed models are IP65, while the silicone Ocean model is IP68. Confirm end sealing and the installation conditions for the selected model. These ratings are not blanket promises for immersion, high heat or chemical exposure.
Before you specify
Are these the same products as uncoated SMD and COB strips?
This collection covers the encapsulated outdoor models in a separate source catalogue. A shared LED package, width or model number does not prove the same construction or electrical specification.
Can every model be cut at any point?
No. Follow the interval and designated marks for the exact model. The unrestricted-cutting feature of the solderless silicone collection is not applied to these strips.
Where are the accessories?
The supplied monochrome and RGB accessory selections are placed only beneath the round light-strip product. Other outdoor models do not display that accessory collection.
Does IP68 specify underwater depth and duration?
No depth or duration is stated in this catalogue. Confirm those conditions and the complete termination arrangement before specifying the silicone Ocean model for an immersion application.
